Pathways

There are three pathways for development of National Standards;

i) RGOB/BSB Funded – The National Standards are developed through the RGoB or BSB resources.

ii) Corporate/Industries Funded – This pathway offers options for the stakeholders to fund the National Standards Development activities; like the resources required for convening the Technical Committee Meetings. However, the provisions of external funding does not give the funding entity any preferential consideration in relation to the technical content and outcome of the standards.

iii) Donor Funded – National Standards can also be developed through funding from Donor Agencies; the Donor Agencies can choose to fund a series of Technical Committee Meetings that may be required for the development of a particular standard. However, the provisions of external funding does not give the funding entity any preferential consideration in relation to the technical content and outcome of the standards.

Proposal for the development of new National Standards, and for conversion of Sectoral Standards are received from April to June. Proposals for adoption of International and Regional Standards are received from October to December.
